About
Coercive control can be difficult to recognise in the counselling room. Clients might describe behaviours that have become normal to them, or talk about a relationship in a way that sounds loving while also hinting at fear, restriction or a loss of confidence. This half-day training looks at how coercive control can show up in what clients bring to sessions, and what we can do when we start to notice it.
It follows on from the Johari Window masterclass, moving from noticing what a client might not yet be able to see to working with it thoughtfully in your own practice.
The training is led by Julia Summers, accredited counsellor, trainer and author of Game Over: Uncovering the Secrets of Unhealthy Relationship Behaviours and Manipulation. It runs on Zoom from 9.30am to 1pm UK time, and everyone who attends will receive a CPD certificate.
